  • Whale watching

    These magnificent creatures are seasonal visitors to our shores, as they come to False bay to calve in the spring.

  • Hiking

    Simply step outside to explore some of the magnificent mountain trails that are right on our doorstep.

  • Shopping

    Simon's Town is full of great little shops, and the daily flea market is just the place to buy a few gifts to hake home with you.

  • Swimming

    There are plenty of fine beaches in the vicinity. The closest, Long Beach, is just five minutes away and is safe for toddlers.

  • Treasure hunting

    At Scratch Patch and Mineral World, just 20 minutes' walk from Simon's Town, you can buy semi-precious stones and jewellery.

  • Penguin viewing

    Within walking distance lies Boulders Beach, where you can visit a protected colony of endangered African penguins.

  • Shark diving

    Several tour operators are based in the area and would be more than happy to introduce you to a new friend with a lovely smile.

  • Kayaking

    Sign up with the local paddle school and join them for a guided tour of the coastline - you might see a wild otter!
